Privacy policy

Accounts are optional

You can browse, search and read everything without an account. Sign-in is provided by Google Firebase Authentication: you either continue with your Google account or create an account with your email address and a password. Your password is handled only by Firebase and never reaches FreeAnime.xyz. Firebase (operated by Google) stores your sign-in details (your email address, your Google account identifier if you use Google, and for email accounts a securely hashed password) and sends the verification and password-reset emails you ask for; see Google's privacy policy. FreeAnime.xyz itself stores your email address, your Firebase user identifier, the anime on your list with their status and episode progress, and the dates these were created or changed. While you are signed in, a session record (a hash of your sign-in token and its expiry) is kept so the site knows it is you.

This data is used only to run your account. It is not sold, not shared with advertisers and not used for marketing email. FreeAnime.xyz stores it in Cloudflare's database service. You can delete your account at any time from the "My list" page; this immediately removes your account, your list and your sessions from FreeAnime.xyz and deletes your Firebase sign-in account.

Hosting and request data

The site runs on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data needed to deliver pages and protect the site, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time of the request. Short-lived request logs are kept to diagnose errors. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.

AniList

Anime artwork is loaded directly from AniList's image servers, and the search box sends what you type to AniList's public API to suggest titles. Pages that are not in the site's pre-built set (for example less common titles, filtered lists and search results) are assembled in your browser: it requests the anime data from AniList and sends that public anime data, together with the page address, back to FreeAnime.xyz to lay out the page. Nothing else about you is included, and the result is not stored. In all of these cases your browser connects to AniList, which receives your IP address and the request. Cookies and local storage

FreeAnime.xyz uses no analytics or tracking scripts. It sets cookies only when you sign in: a session cookie that keeps you signed in (HttpOnly, so page scripts cannot read it; it expires after 30 days or when you sign out) and a small "signed in" flag that tells pages to show your list. Advertising, described below, may set its own cookies.

Advertising

The site uses Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. Where Google's consent message is shown (it is intended for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland), personalised ads are used only after you agree, and you can change that choice with the "Privacy settings" link in the footer. Children

The site is a general-audience reference and is not directed at children under 13.

Your rights and contact

If you have no account, FreeAnime.xyz itself stores no personal data about you. If you have one, you can see your list on the "My list" page and delete everything with "Delete account".
