Main characters

Characters AniList lists in a main role, with spoiler-free notes.

  • Nobita Nobi 野比のび太

    Main character

Nobita is a fourth grader in Tokyo and only child. He is lazy, bad in sports, bad in school, plain as a gray rock, and to top it off, all too unlucky in his (mis)adventures with Doraemon. However, his struggles to overcome his flaws are what drive the storyline.

    Japanese voice: Megumi Oohara

  • Doraemon ドラえもん

    Main character

Doraemon is a robotic cat (though he is frequently mistaken as a tanuki) that was sent back in time to help Nobita. He has a 4-dimensional pocket on his front chest from which he can pull out all sorts of strange futuristic gadgets. Doraemon's favourite food is dorayaki. He has a sister named Dorami.

    Japanese voice: Wasabi Mizuta

  • Shizuka Minamoto 源静香

    Main character

Shizuka is the smart, kind, and pretty neighborhood girl who is the object of Nobita's affections. She takes baths several times a day. Nobita often disrupts her in the bath due to some misuse of Doraemon's gadgets, resulting in Nobita's head getting dunked.

    Japanese voice: Yumi Kakazu

  • Suneo Honekawa 骨川スネ夫

    Main character

Suneo is the fox-faced (inherited from his mother) rich kid who loves to flaunt his material wealth before everyone. He is often seen with Gian, serving as Gian's lackey while they bully Nobita together, though deep down he fears and despises him as much as everyone else.

    Japanese voice: Tomokazu Seki

  • Takeshi Gouda 剛田武

    Main character

Takeshi, usually known by the nickname "Gian" from English word "giant", is the big, strong, and quick-tempered local bully. He is known for his confidence in his terrible singing voice, though he considers himself a great singer.

    Japanese voice: Subaru Kimura

Supporting characters

  • Hidetoshi Dekisugi 出木杉英才

    Supporting character

A sometimes-appearing character, Dekisugi is Nobita's main rival for Shizuka. Handsome, athletic and smart, he appears to have no real flaws. His name is a Japanese pun meaning "over talented". Nobita often asks Doraemon for gadgets to copy Dekisugi's homework.

    Japanese voice: Shihoko Hagino

  • Masaaki Fukuyama 福山雅秋

    Supporting character

A famous pop star that Shizuka admires very much. He is based on Fukuyama Masaharu, one of Japan's leading male artists.

    Japanese voice: Masaharu Fukuyama

  • Dorami ドラミ

    Supporting character

Dorami is Doraemon's little sister. Interestingly, they are siblings because they drank out of each other's oil cans. Even though they are siblings, she is more quick-witted and brighter than him as she is ran by the lower portion of the same can of oil that Doraemon ran, which has more nutrients than the upper…

    Japanese voice: Chiaki Fujimoto
